'The rose is the national flower of England and has always been valued for its beauty. Roses are ancient symbols of love and beauty and are often given as bouquets to our loved ones, especially on Valentines Day. This is a worldwide tradition, example being that on St George's Day in Catalonia people offer dark red roses as gifts, especially between lovers. I could think of no better symbol than the red rose to front my jewellery as like the rose, they are not only bought and given with love, they are made with love.' Jane
Jane Maglione is a fully qualified Art Clay Silver Instructor and Jewellery Designer specialising in Art Clay Silver Jewellery.
Based in her studio at The Chocolate Factory in Wood Green, North London, Jane designs and creates unique handmade jewellery using a variety of materials including Pure Silver, Enamelling, Glass, Beads, Semi Precious Stones and Lace.
Workshops are run from her studio for both children and adults. You can contact Jane directly for her workshop schedule.
Using Art Clay Silver as her main medium, each piece of jewellery is created in the silver clay to a high standard of finish before it is fired in a kiln to remove the binders and to sinter the silver particles together.
Jane loves the use of colour to enhance her pieces further and will often use opaque as well as transparent enamels on the fired silver . The use of the transparent enamels is her favourite as it enable the beauty of the silver to shine through adding a jewel like sparkle to the finished design.
If you would like to learn how to create your own beautiful jewellery you can find all the details of the workshops Jane teaches from the link on the Art Clay page.
Art Clay Silver clay and jewellery making supplies are sold either online or through the studio in Wood Green.
